The Do LaB announced the 2022 return of Lightning in a Bottle this week with an absolutely insane lineup to accompany it. After a two-year hiatus away from the esteemed boutique camping festival, fans have been eager to return to what seems to be many people’s home-away-from-home. Merging art, music, yoga, and both inspirational and educational talks- Lightning in a Bottle truly brings one of the most unique events in all of California. This edition will be especially memorable, with an entire extra day of programming and other new surprise additions to the five-day festival. From May 25-30, attendees can enter a fully-immersive mind, body, and soul experience at the beautiful Lake Buena Vista. Tickets go on sale tomorrow 11/5 at 10 am PST.

Lake Buena Vista provides a truly ideal place for the 2022 Lakeside Launch Party at a sandy shore dubbed LIBeach. Lee Reynolds, Mikey Lion, Porky, and Marbs of the Desert Hearts crew taking the reins- it will definitely be the perfect kickstart to the week’s activities. Continuing on the non-stop Thursday programming will be a special 4-hour Joe Kay (Soulection) set at the Stacks. The Do LaB will also be premiering a brand-new stage this year, in collaboration with the reputable Burning Man art car Junk in the Trunk. The Junk Yard will replace the Favela stage as home to California’s native house and techno artists and bring a brand-new home base for the underground scene at LIB.

For the first time ever, the Woogie will see expanded programming bringing an additional full day of house and techno. The fan-favorite enclave provides a next-level collection of internationally renowned artists and rising talent alike. This remote hideaway has quickly grown to be one of the most popular stages over the years, and judging by the lineup- it is not hard to assume why. From South-African legend Black Coffee, UK’s Seth Troxler, the unmatched Four Tet, and girl boss Maya Jane Coles, talents from across the globe will take the stage for an affair to remember. Continuing on the billing are emotive pioneers such as Yotto, WhoMadeWho, Hernan Cattaneo, and Inallea that have been at the forefront of the melodic subgenre this past year. A special performance by Jon Hopkins will debut his new album for psychedelic therapy alongside his fellow electronica flagbearer Max Cooper. Finally, rising stars in the house scene such as the likes of VNSSA, Lubelski, SOHMI, Kyle Watson, Eli & Fur, and Carlita will join beside industry stars like DJ Minx and Marques Wyatt for an absolutely unforgettable year at the Woogie.

The Lightning Stage is known for showcasing huge talents from all genres and backgrounds to the forefront of the festival. The main stage will bring both live and electronic artists alike to one centralized location with incomparable production and sound. This edition brings British indie icons Glass Animals, fan-favorite Kaytranada, Colorado’s bass prodigy GRiZ, and crossover performances from Purity Ring, Chet Faker, and SG Lewis. The notorious Monolink will make his grand return to the festival, while British-Nigerian rapper Lil Simz and singer-songwriter Empress Of will make their first-ever LIB debuts. Joining them will be UK’s music group Elder Islands and Australian electronic superstars Lastlings.

The Thunder stage will revamp from what was previously known to be all things bass music into a tree-lined theater where artists from multiple genres will share the spotlight. From beloved electronic composer and songwriter Big Wild, the cinematic anthems of CloZee, to LA’s bass staple Ekali– the all-new Thunder stage will be the perfect melting pot of all backgrounds of dance music. For those wanting to stick to the stage’s bass music roots, there will be special performances such as G Jones B2B Eprom, Mr. Carmack, LSDream, and OPIUO. Finally, the programming will be rounded off by Jamaican rapper Koffee, American singer and producer GoldLink, and New Orleans bounce superstar Big Freeida

Committed to keeping LIB alumni and its community connected at all times, the Do LaB teamed up with previous festival icons RÜFÜS DU SOL with an all-new creative project. Their forthcoming show from November 12-14 at LA’s Banc of California Stadium will feature an immersive sound reactive video sculpture that is 150 feet long to the grounds outside the stadium during all three days. This will be a preview into the same installation that will appear at Lightning in a Bottle right in the heart of Downtown LA. Featuring sounds from the Glitch Mob’s Boreta discography alongside Strangeloop Visuals visual effects, the creative project will truly be one-of-a-kind and a perfect glimpse of the festival to come.

For those wanting to camp and dance in style, all-new VIP ticket and glamping experiences are readily available for the 2022 edition of Lightning in a Bottle. With added VIP lounges, backstage bars, and elevated viewing areas- ticket-holders will truly get a celebrity experience for the five-day fiesta. LIB is also premiering “Atlaswyld” which brings a festival-within-a-festival boutique camping experience for those who want to level up their camping. This area offers sleeping arrangements from a Bell Tent, Kodiak, or Airstream paired with tailored yoga and wellness classes, culinary programming, Happy Hour mixers, and other high-end encounters for the guests.

Since their debut in 2006, the Do LaB has failed to disappoint any and all who attend the eccentric experience that is Lightning in a Bottle. Bringing people from all stories and backgrounds together, it is one of the most unique and welcoming festivals in California. With top-tier production, an internationally-acclaimed lineup, and a beautiful venue next to the glistening Lake Buena Vista- it is hard to pass up on the annual boutique camping festival that so many love. With new elements alongside the old that make LIB so special, this edition will surely be one to remember. For more information and tickets, visit www.libfestival.org.
