Today, one of California’s most coveted camping festivals announced its return to Buena Vista Lake after a two-year pause in production due to the pandemic. Lightning in a Bottle 2022 will take place over Memorial Day Weekend and is back and better than ever. With a completely reimagined concept and theme, the festival will showcase a brand-new stage, glamping experiences, and art car performances. Holding tight onto the same LIB ethos, the Do Lab will once again bring an experience meant to push connection and expressiveness to the forefront of their programming. With the full-lineup announcement to come, tickets for the May 25-30 event will be available starting Friday, November 5.

This edition focuses on the theme “Where Lightning Strikes” showcases the uniqueness and versatility of the event’s values at its core. Known for defying the borders of the average festival, Lightning in a Bottle believes in participation at its forefront, the freedom to express oneself, and creating lifelong memories for all. With the brand-new theme and added ideas comes LIBeach, a new sandy getaway, which is set to host Thursday’s opening daytime party. The event will also feature a modernized layout with less walking time between stages, allowing guests to maximize their experience over the week. A slew of fun, interactive art cars will wander between each stage as well for surprise pop-up performances.

Some of the biggest changes to the 2022 imprint will be to the flagship stages with all-new direction and expanded programming. Fan-favorite Woogie stage will extend to all-day Thursday bookings for an added day of unparalleled house and techno acts.  The Thunder stage, infamously known for being the headquarters for all things bass music, will transform into a larger, open-air stage with performances spanning across all genres. Replacing the renowned Favela stage will be an all-new experience previously seen at Burning Man- Junk in the Trunk. This stage will remain home to California’s favorite native house and techno artists. Additionally, each stage will feature state-of-the-art VIP areas with backstage lounges, full bars, and exclusive viewing areas for passholders.

Alongside new performance aspects and venue changes comes an all-new glamping experience named Atlaswyld. This boutique camping initiative will feature tailored health and wellness classes, Happy Hour socials, culinary programming, and more. Campers can choose from the extravagant Bell Tent, Kodiak, or Airstream as their weekend’s home base.

Complimenting all of this year’s changes are the staple activities and smaller stages the make Lighting in a Bottle unique- such as the Grand Artique, Unicorn Palace, cooking classes, inspirational talks, daily yoga,  festival-wide activities, and workshops. This immersive event takes place on the shores of the idyllic Buena Vista Lake with swim-friendly waters, grassy knolls, and shady trees to beat the heat. This unmatched adult playground is truly an experience that builds memories and relationships to last a lifetime.
