Following an exclusive premiere on The FADER today (Wednesday, December 4), NISHA reveals her brand new music video for her wildly successful single “Figures.”
The official “Figures” music video is a stunningly-beautiful, culturally authentic masterpiece. It was filmed in Los Angeles with 30 Indian actors including Nik Dodani from the Netflix series, Atypical and Murphy Brown; Ritesh Rajan from Netflix’s Russian Doll; Karan Bar from Nickelodeon’s Diary of a Wimpy Kid; and Sachin Bhatt from Once Upon A Time.
“‘Figures’ is a song about feeling underestimated, and the dark side of comparison. NISHA is challenging the rigid boundaries she grew up with while paying homage to the culture of competition and high expectations that formed her as an artist. Starring a Southeast Asian cast, she presents a subversive microcosm of the world in a fairytale satire of our favorite vices.” – NISHA
“Figures,” which is out now through Pug Life Records/AWAL, has been rapidly accumulating streams across all DSPs, and making waves on Indian radio. The latest and greatest from NISHA is truly a testament to her artistic edge and range as a performer.
NISHA has seen a massive 2019. Some of this year’s major accomplishments include having the song “Money” (by Miquela), which she co-wrote, showcased during the People’s Choice Awards, and her original song “Midas” just featured in NBC’s sitcom ‘Sunnyside’ starring Kal Penn of ‘Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle’).
Appearing as a special guest last weekend at Mercury Lounge NYC, NISHA joined HARBER for their forthcoming single “Pieces,” as well as a live performance of “Figures.” This year, HARBER’s “Savior” feat. Axel, which was co-written by NISHA, made its grand reveal exclusively in Us Weekly magazine, and was premiered by Forbes.
