With seven full-length studio albums under his belt and multiple Gold records, dance music veteran Ferry Corsten is back with a brand new single off of his next studio album, FERR. Ferry has described the concept of his upcoming album as a focus on mindfulness and relaxation. Life gets busy, and sometimes it feels as though work and stress will only get worse. Ferry wants to reassure fans that this is not the case, and that he is here to help relieve that burden with his extremely relaxing new single, “Dark Water.”
This is the first single off of his upcoming album FERR, and it is nothing short of euphoric and uplifting. The song is not a traditional dance track because it does not feature heavy drums, basslines, or drops. Instead, “Dark Water” focuses on ambient sound design with airy pads, sizzle-y plucks, synths, and a gorgeous composition that will immediately put you in a state of relaxation and mindfulness.
The song begins with a downtempo plucked melody that has a very three-dimensional texture through its reverb and delay. It then progresses to be accompanied by a swirling pad and warm sub-bass.
This song is the first of many compositions in this style that will be on the album. FERR will certainly be a unique release in the progressive dance music community and it will be an exciting new direction not only for progressive fans, but for all dance music lovers.
Striving always for excellence, Ferry Corsten is an artist who is never satisfied with all that he’s accomplished, instead always pushing for the next exciting idea. Ferry has had a diverse catalogue of music released over the tenure of his career, and this single is a strong addition to his repertoire. For Ferry Corsten, the possibilities are without limitation.
