Classic Ibiza Anthem ‘Discopolis 2.0’ by Lifelike & Kris Menace Gets Meduza Rework

The golden classic “Discopolis” by Lifelike & Kris Menace is about as evergreen as a dance record can get. The Original is released in 2005 (and re-released as “Discopolis 2.0” in 2015). Once the world-renowned Ibiza anthem was picked up by BBC Radio 1 figurehead Pete Tong, it breached into the Top 100 of the U.K. Singles chart and sold over 30,000 vinyl units. With such an impressive feat it cemented its’ status as a staple House track for decades to come.

And now, fifteen years later, leading tastemaker MEDUZA ups the ante with a huge remix that’s set to create the same shockwaves in the scene that it did back then.

“‘Discopolis’ is a special record for us and many others. This makes it a difficult one to remix but we have to say that MEDUZA have done an amazing job. They have given it a fresh, contemporary sound whilst managing to keep the vibe of the original!” – Lifelike & Kris Menace

MEDUZA has spent the year leading the charge in returning house music to daytime radio, with their galvanizing grooves. That is to say that this track is no exception. The moment the first note hits you feel yourself pulled right into the track. This is the finest of Ibiza sound you can get at the moment. So far the best alternative for those still stuck at home. Where the original has a long intro, this one gets straight to the good stuff. MEDUZA skillfully reworked this seminal record to fit perfectly in today’s club nights and festivals, with the classic melody floating atop the signature MEDUZA sound. Moreover, this remix lays the foundations for the resurgence of “Discopolis.”

Our Verdict

Where the original was a monumental track in its time, this remix certainly is a fitting rework that fits perfectly with today’s sounds. “Discopolis 2.0 (MEDUZA Remix)” already has the support from numerous DJs such as Martin Garrix, W&W, Don Diablo, Kryder, Sander van Doorn, Oliver Heldens, Above & Beyond, Hardwell, Blasterjaxx and many more.
