The beloved Dutch duo Vicetone unleashed a new monster upon the world. This amazing ear candy is called “Shadow.” For this track they teamed up with Canadian pop thrill Allie X.
Vicetone has left a lasting impression within the electronic scene with an unprecedented global movement behind their viral hit single, “Astronomia.” This track has earned over 170 million plays on Spotify alone. Many of them which came after soundtracking the wildly popular ‘coffin dance’ meme that flooded TikTok earlier this year. Vicetone and Allie X bring you their latest original collaboration “Shadow.”
“Shadow explores the darker side of love and infatuation, with a haunting melody that we can’t get enough of. Allie X really nailed the vibe of the vocal and we couldn’t be more excited to be working with her.” – Vicetone
The guys are exploring the darker side of their always polished productions. The duo crafted a moody melodic progression around the haunting vocals from Allie X. Maybe it is a coincidence that this track was released the day before Halloween. The tracks’ intro is perfect for any horror movie. It hits off with scary piano followed by an eerie haunting vocal. What follows is an amazing break. This track gives of this feeling that you are running through the woods, but in a cold dark night with something scary following you. The overall composition of this track is a work of art. Unleashing a intoxicating new soundscape, “Shadow” is a testament to Vicetone’s artistic depth and widespread appeal.
Vicetone’s recent single, “Animal” featuring Jordan Powers and Bekah Novi already sparked massive excitement around new music from the duo. Fans can now expect more to come as they prepare their annual 2020 end of year mix. With so many exciting things coming ahead, we’re happy that their collaboration with Allie X “Shadow” is now out on Monstercat.
