“For the last 15 years, the friendly rivalry between NCS and Monstercat has been one of the internet’s favourite debates. It was never something we created – it was built by the community, fuelled by incredible artists, unforgettable records, and millions of fans championing the label they loved. While we’ve always taken different paths, we’ve shared the same passion for discovering talent and soundtracking the internet. Bringing both labels together for our 15th anniversaries felt like the perfect way to celebrate that history, honour the communities that made it all possible, and look ahead to the next generation of artists and fans.” – Charlotte Lee (General Manager NCS)
Both making their debut on Monstercat in 2021, ARMNHMR & Whales continue to carve out a signature sound rooted in emotion, atmosphere, and larger-than-life melodies. Now, the two reunite for Stay Away, teaming up with have had a catalogue full of heart-felt and emotional releases every year since. Continuing that strong momentum, the two release Stay Away that blends dreamy melodies, laid-back bass, and subtle wubs with British vocalist Adalaide Adams for a track that captures the bittersweet and emotional side of melodic bass. With dreamy melodies and laid-back basslines, the track sets the mood before subtle wubs and Adam’s soaring vocals take the track to its emotional peak, creating the kind of festival crybanging anthem built for that “hands in the air” moment while singing your heart out with the crowd surrounding you.
“This partnership feels so unexpected it’s almost taboo, like the kind of fan fiction crossover that would never actually happen. But we’ve been close with Charlotte, Dan and the NCS team for years, and with our 15-year anniversaries falling just weeks apart, it felt like the perfect opportunity to celebrate the rich, interconnected history of two of the internet’s biggest record labels.” – Orri Sachar (Vice President of Monstercat)
On the other side, Lost Sky & Chris Linton represent NCS to counteract with Heaven & Hell. A darker, cinematic journey, pairing intense production with an adventurous, mysterious edge. As two of the most prolific producers in the NCS universe, the pair have already cemented their chemistry with “Fearless Pt. II,” which has amassed hundreds of thousands of streams across platforms. Now, they reunite for a fresh collaboration that brings that signature energy into the 15 year anniversary showdown, proving once again why Lost Sky & Chris Linton are the collaboration pair to remember.
