California’s most unique festival is back with Dirtybird Campout 2021 returning to Modesto Reservoir Campgrounds on October 15-17. This summer-camp-themed festival is known to be a fan favorite, celebrating Claude Vonstroke’s world-renowned record label Dirtybird. Reflecting on the label’s eccentric sounds and aesthetic, the three-day festival brings a whole new experience to all “campers” who attend. Pairing both an insane music line-up with nostalgic camp activities and games, this will be an event that all house music lovers must attend. Tickets are on sale now here.

With so many industry icons signed to Vonstroke’s famed label, the line-up every year is as good as it can get. Straying away from the normal same few headliners as other festivals this year, Dirtybird Campout will bring together an eclectic fusion house, techno, funk, hip-hop, and other dance music legends. Thursday early-arrival guests can experience a one-of-a-kind pajama party with Crosstown Rebel’s boss Damian Lazarus and a warm-up set with Claude. Moving forward throughout the weekend, the Birdhouse Stage will be home to all things house, showcasing artist powerhouses such as Boys Noize, Tiga, Catz ’n Dogz, Ardalan, and Walker & Royce. International house industry heads such as Gene Ferris, Hector Romero, DJ Heather, Worthy, and more secure this stage with a truly unmatched synthesis of the old and new. Dirtybird rising stars will then carry on the torch with the likes of Lubelski, VNSSA, Sacha Robotti, Nala, Steve Darko, and more taking center stage.

The Bass Lodge brings even more talent, aside from house music, with performances from DJ Jazzy Jeff, Kid Koala, a festival debut from Brakence, and a light and nostalgic set from Medasin. Dirtybird’s new white-label series will be showcased, as well, with epic sets from the likes of Justin Jay, Danny Goliger, Hugo Massien, and Nikki Nair. Detroit industry-head Carl Craig will celebrate thirty years of Planet-E recordings, alongside beloved hip-hop artists Sir Mix-A-Lot and Digable Planets. Campers will also enjoy idyllic live performances by Jacques Greene and Rodriguez Jr. Late-night warriors can enjoy special sets from UK-based DnB stars Planet of the drums, Vonstroke’s alter-ego Barclay Crenshaw, and Yheti. At the Lodge, anything goes, and there is quite literally something for everyone.

Aside from the music, attendees have a plethora of team summer camp activities throughout the weekend. Upon arrival, they are flocked to the Games HQ from the get-go to receive their special Color Team bandanas for the weekend that they will use to compete for the esteemed Iron-Bird trophy. Amongst these group competitions are fifteen insanely fun events such as the Dodgeball Tournament, .5km Floaty Race, and Tug-o-War. With world-famous DJs as their “camp counselors,” the pressure is truly on to win the prize for their team. On top of the group events, campers can participate in the Talent Show, Beatboxing Competition, Pie-Eating Contest, Deep House Yoga,  and Late Night Bingo. The Camper Comedy Hour is even joined by world-famous comedians to round out the weekend with some laughs.

With the past year having the music industry entirely reliant on the internet, emerged an internet sensation known as Dirtybird TV. This Twitch platform is where many DJs and producers found a way to bring fans their music and other entertainment at home. Many of the label’s artists became instant fan-favorites and will now bring their internet fame to Dirtybird Campout. Many attendees will be seeing their favorite characters in person for the first time including ‘TV Party’s Nala, ‘Psychic Bassline”s Victoria Rawlins, and ‘Off the Clock”s Subset.

Modesto Reservoir Campgrounds proves to be the perfect venue for Dirtybird Campout, being home to the event the last few years. RV hookups are right next to the lake for a dreamy view, with showers and bathrooms supplied for everyone. Improvements this year include faster load-in times and more water stations across the festival grounds. The Boutique Camping this year will see their own parking, luxury bathrooms and showers, guaranteed silent disco headphones every night, and fresh ice in their coolers each morning. With next-level programming, a stacked line-up, and the immense love that is the Dirtybird community-comes a nostalgic summer camp experience for ravers that will remember for a lifetime.
