If you haven’t heard it yet, now you certainly won’t be able to resist electronic group Melonia’s incredible rework of Guns N’ Roses’ all-time classic “Sweet Child O’ Mine.” Big Beat Records is now revealing the official video and The Nocturnal Times is offering this world premiere.
An instant dance take on a forever classic, Melonia spins every ounce of radiant energy into this new version. Wrapping their electro-pop production style through and through here, the revamp dishes up everything essential about the original like the undeniable riffs and
Giving a semi tropical twist to their rework, Melonia’s atmospheric taste takes center stage here. Rounding up an ever-elegant feel, “Sweet Child O’ Mine” is a refined and well-polished take on the amazing original.
“For us this video is a metaphor, showing both the love and pain that is expressed in the lyrics of this song.” – Melonia
A fairytale sort of music video, the storyline follows two mysterious and playful lead characters whose buzzing youth takes them along several risky journeys. Masked at times, the girls race through jungle landscapes, abandoned houses, and towards the end are alone underneath a mystical night sky with planets breaking through their very own stratosphere. The music video is a cinematic counterpart to Melonia’s track, and their sun-kissed craftsmanship has burst through the seams in both their brand-new rendition as well as this new music video.
Melonia is a Swedish duo made up of producers and childhood friends Svidden and Jarly who have individually worked with artists like Galantis, Sigala, R3HAB, John Newman, Becky Hill, Hillary Duff, and many more. Their moniker is inspired by an animated film that the duo recalls from their youth – The Journey to Melonia. This film depicts a sort of pristine island where peace, harmony, and creativity co-exist. This notion comes through crystal clear within Melonia’s effervescent discography and hallmark sound.
