Is there anything better than when two music worlds collide? Maybe in some cases, but in this case, we definitely don’t believe so. Marshmello & Manuel Turizo have teamed up for their highly-anticipated new single, “El Merengue,” which is available now (Thursday, March 2) through Sony Music Latin.

On Friday, February 24, Manuel Turizo embarked on a journey through Times Square in New York City, during rush hour, for a major announcement at 5pm. Donning the famous Marshmello helmet, Turizo posed for photos as seven billboards across the busy area displayed “El Merengue,” the brand-new single from the pair which was slated to drop just one week later. Marshmello, who was in Mexico to play EDC Mexico later that evening, joined Manuel for an Instagram live session to announce the record to their fanbases.

Following the major song announcement in Times Square last Friday, Manuel Turizo recorded an exclusive video announcement for The Nocturnal Times about his forthcoming Mello collab. Watch the video on our Instagram, below.

“El Merengue” fuses both Marshmello & Manuel Turizo’s signature sounds for a finished product that’s nothing short of spectacular. Assured to have you moving from its infectious start, “El Merengue” will have you singing along in no time at all. And that’s even if you don’t speak Spanish… we guarantee it.

The song pays homage to early 2000s electronic merengue — and it’s the first time either artist has done so thus far in their careers; making it a newly reimagined global collaboration for both Mello and Turizo. With an accompanying music video, “El Merengue” is a surefire hit, which will be making its way into many DJ sets and onto many dance floors. As festival season has only just begun, we’re certain you’ll be hearing plenty of Marshmello & Manuel Turizo’s “El Merengue” in the months to come.
