Klasey Jones And The Wildcatz Team Up For Solid “Operation Midnight (Part 2)” EP

When Two-talented names in the industry join forces you can be sure that they create a massive sonic spectacle. The multi talented Klasey Jones and the fabulous duo The Wildcatz have stitched together a total of 5 sonically pleasing tracks with their release of “Operation Midnight (Part 2)” EP.

This tracks of this EP are rooted in some form of a bass music genre. Yet, the EP offers so much more beyond this. These artists sharing many influences and themes-per-track that allow each work to stand out on its own, while simultaneously, the EP grooms the mind of the listener to revel in the arc that’s collectively present. The whole of “Operation Midnight (Part 2)” EP is greater than the sum of its parts.

Tracks “Breaking Point,” “Diego’s Theme,” and “Hands Of Time,” are collaborations that conjoin the talents of the two names attached to this EP. While “Trojan Horse,” shows what Klasey Jones can do in solo form (featuring Sooski) and “Elysian Fields,” boasts The Wildcatz’s prowess when they are put to the test.

Getting into the weeds of what’s at hand, the EP kicks off via “Breaking Point,” a wave-based release that contains a certain anthemic aspect to it. With trippy synth-work and highly technical percussion, the track fires off what is a well-articulated journey through the visions of passionate artists.

“Trojan Horse,” shakes up expectations with a cinematically-infused drum and bass tune, styling exotic melodies and a sense of spirituality throughout its playtime. The vocal of Sooski fits right into the far-flung nature, making the element of surprise an intrinsic to the experience. 

“Diego’s Theme,” puts the power of what this EP contains on full display. Blending together traditional sonic cues of what makes up the fabric of the genre, while sharing a head-bobbing, easy-to-latch onto mood that simply satisfies.

“Hands Of Time,” could be the most club/festival friendly of the bunch. Equipped with a flavorful groove from the very start, smooth wubs and captivating vocal effects take the listener to a place that’s all it’s own. Trap-heavy percussion and sense of invigoration brought out by the synth work all come into play to nail a memorable vibe on this one.

Closing out Operation Midnight (Part 2) EP, “Elysian Fields,” pulls together various cues taken from the previous 4 singles while also putting its own distinctive energy into play all in the same run. A feeling of things coming full circle and a sense of reflection are just a few of the joyful aspects of this ending tune.
