Since its strong start, deadmau5’s house label hau5trap has been rising to the top. The label is already home to major singles by popular artists, Tommy Trash, Jay Robinson, and label head, deadmau5. It is clearly defined by its passionate creators both in the studio and behind-the-scenes and is showing this by hosting their first NFT launch. This launch is a collaboration with hau5trap and digital artist/recent signee, Alan Bolton which will include a 3-piece audiovisual NFT drop available for purchase on Tuesday, April 27th on MakersPlace. The drop includes a 1 of 1 one-minute audio piece as well as 2 open editions, both being 15-second audio loops.

For those who are unfamiliar, NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) are digital and blockchain-based collectibles that can be bought, sold, and traded on marketplaces using blockchain technology. They are rare pieces of art that cannot be replicated.

Alan Bolton, frequent mau5trap collaborator, is an Irish digital artist based in Tenerife, Spain. He is a freelance creative in many types of mediums including mixed media, photography, videography, graphic design, 3D art, and more. His surreal and abstract style is based heavily on elements of spirituality, technology, and nature. He blends all of these aspects into unique still-image and video artworks. Since the rise of crypto art, Alan has been in the scene since November 2020 and has been building up his name as a popular artist in the space with a number of his works published on top platforms. He found himself joining the mau5trap team when he was discovered by tagging the label in short augmented reality clips on Instagram. They ended up bringing him on board as they could see his artistic skills being useful to their branding.

“The intersection of tech and music has been synonymous with the deadmau5 brand since inception. With NFTs, it’s important to respect the space – and for us, that means discovering and developing the next generation of digital artists, the same way we do with electronic ones. We’re thrilled to welcome Alan to the team, and proud to present his collaborations to the world.” – Dean Wilson, CEO & Founder of Seven20
