Parisian electronic duo Dirtyphonics (Charly Barranger and Julien “Pitchin” Corrales) are true legends of Bass Music. Over the last decade, they have shaped the sound of French Bass Music. Dirtyphonics have taken their boundless creativity and explosive shows all across the world, from Coachella to Tomorrowland. Now we see French electronic duo unveil their genre-bending album, Magnetic, on Monstercat Uncaged. Magnetic marks a triumphant return showcasing the evolution of the duo’s sound in the last decade.

“As DJs on stage, we attract the attention of the crowd and channel it into a unified energy. For an instant, whether it’s at a show or through this new album we all become one with the music, acting as the magnet that attracts and leads us in the same direction. We’ve infused these ideas in the artworks through the use of ferrofluids, a liquid that comes to life when attracted by the poles of a magnet. We all are like ferrofluids, the music is the magnet, and our album is ‘Magnetic'” – Dirtyphonics

The 12-track album features collaborations with Micah Martin, SampliFire, IVORY, and others, showcasing a range of Dirtyphonics’ production skills through heavy music (Drum & Bass, Bass House, Dubstep, and Metal) and their early influences, portraying their love for different tempos and how they sculpt sounds to into their own. Magnetic symbolises the universal idea of attraction. Living in an era where we experience division and toxicity, the duo wanted to focus on drawing what makes the present moment by embracing authenticity and the best version of ourselves through positive magnetic forces. Taking inspiration from their 15 years of making music together, Dirtyphonics honed in on the magical dynamic that drives them. Being a duo, they tend to notice a push-pull tension, like a magnet, and although it can be challenging, it nurtures their creative force and makes their differences their strengths.

In “Concentrate,” the album’s lead single, Dirtyphonics transports listeners through a Melodic Techno-inspired cinematic journey. With its sharp basslines and awakening synths, the record is a boundless experience that elicits the sensation of travelling through space. This is a signature theme that appears throughout Dirtyphonics’ discography, highlighting their ability to transport listeners through their power of sound. Magnetic is out now on all mayor streaming platforms.

The future is looking bright for Dirtyphonics, as the duo gear up for festival performances at Rampage Open Air, Tomorrowland, Parookaville, Let It Roll, Dreambeach Festival, Nibirii Festival, and multiple shows in France including La Rhapsodie on May 17th, Rochexpo on May 18th, Ohlala Festival on June 8th, and Motocultor Festival on August 17th and many more.
