While Amapiano continues its global rise, Jaydon Lewis positions himself to be the South African export to lead the charge as the face of the new, younger generation on the scene. Now we see Jaydon Lewis return, following his TikTok viral “GTAmapiano” and his remix of Mabel’s “Finders Keepers,” with his newest collaboration “don’t you see freestyle Part 2.” For this one he teamed up with Miraa May and Lady Du. Miraa May is an Algerian born, Tottenham-based singer-songwriter who takes inspiration from the north London streets where she grew up. Dudu Ngwenya, popularly known as Lady Du, is a singer, rapper, dancer and songwriter hailing from Vosloorus.

The original version marked the first Amapiano track to receive a legitimate release to feature non-English or non-South African dialect, while scoring massive radio play in the UK including the “Radioactive Track of the Week” from DJ Target plus significant radio play from BBC Radio 1XTRA and across the country.

“don’t you see freestyle (pt. 2)” sees Jaydon take a more classic Amapiano approach to the soundscape including the introduction of the shaker elements, which is the earmark of the genre, and Lady Du “the queen of Amapiano” provides her incendiary rapping ability in Zulu that increases the intensity and overall “spice”. The culmination of all three artists’ abilities is nothing short of mesmerizing and provides a new entry into Amapiano that helps to bring a new, exciting sound and club-ready banger that has already ignited dancefloors at recent shows from Jaydon and Lady Du. “don’t you see freestyle (pt. 2)” is out now on all mayor streaming platforms.
