Ivan Galvan Tells A Bass-Heavy Story Through ‘Mensajero’

Based in Los Angeles, Ivan Galvan is an up and coming bass producer who continues to focus on churning out his best. His first released debut electronic album, Lisieux, in 2018, demonstrates the artists’ satisfaction in eerie music with its hauntingly emotive sound. Galvan continues his momentum with his most recent release Mensajero, an eight-song album that depicts a story of fluctuating emotions.

Written in mid-tempo and energizing upbeats, unclean bass synths and eerie downtempo, Mensajero takes listeners on a journey through peaks and valleys. Airy pad synths overlaid with dirty bass synths along with hypnotic dance rhythms create a texture that is quite explosive. An avid electronic music lover would even conclude that Ivan drew inspiration from the sounds of Rezz, Bleep Bloop, G-Jones and Liquid Stranger combined into one massive banger series. There is a satisfying amount of grit throughout the album and its tracks and is sure to instill ominous sensations in its listeners.

“Mensajero is about a war between Archangel Saint Michael and Lucifer. The songs go through all the emotions of battle with the ups and downs. The moments of defeat and victory. And the moments of fear and bravery. Mensajero means messenger in Spanish. The album is red for the blood shed in battle with a sword going through the “e.” (espada is sword in Spanish which is why it was strategically placed through the “e”).” – Ivan Galvan
