New York City based duo Black Caviar is hitting the 2020 scene with their first-ever self-titled EP Caviar Chronicles Vol 1. Coming off of an extremely successful 2019, Black Caviar performed on the mainstage at EDC Orlando, had major releases such as their award-winning track “What’s Up Danger” from the Spiderman: Into The Spider-Verse soundtrack, and a remix of the Charlie’s Angels theme song on the official Charlie’s Angels movie soundtrack. The duo is definitely ready to make 2020 an even bigger year than the last.

Now, Black Caviar is back featuring core funk / deep house sounds on Caviar Chronicles Vol 1, and the feels are strong. “Mr. Vain” sets the tone nicely of the EP with a groovy piano chord progression, very nicely timed drums, and a catchy vocal hook. The EP goes on to “A Little Bit of Ecstacy” which builds nicely off of “Mr. Vain” but takes a bit of a deeper turn in the drop featuring their classic deep house basslines and a soulful vocal performance.

Next, “Glory Box” keeps the energy high on the EP with yet another great vocal performance breathing energy into the track but not overpowering the bassline and drums. The vocals have an atmospheric feel to them as well which offers a wonderful texture to this harder bass infused house track. The EP concludes nicely with “Power of Love” that is a bit slower in tempo but certainly doesn’t disappoint while giving the listener the works of the classic Black Caviar house sound, a feel-good drop, and a track that definitely could be heard early in the night at any club or festival.

Black Caviar has set the mood on fire in Caviar Chronicles Vol 1, fans can only wait at the edge of their seats for what else is coming this year.
