What was once a two day festival back in 2014 consisting of only three stages that brought a mere 42,000 fans, has grown into an internationally renowned festival hosting over double in attendance. This September the masterminds behind the biggest festival in America, Ultra Miami, will transform Odaiba Ultra Park into a special event space for three full days of Ultra Japan on September 16th, 17th and 18th, 2017. On the way to Japan, Ultra Worldwide will spread the love and adventure to eight other locations in India, China, Taiwan, Bali, the Philippines and Hong Kong.
Releasing the phase two lineup not too long ago, attendees will really be in for a treat this year. With an astounding six live debut international performers alongside some of the top DJs around the world, festival goers are in for one hell of a long weekend in about a month. Empire of the Sun, KSHMR, Pendulum, Porter Robinson, Tchami, and Underworld make up the live headliners trekking their way to the Land of the Rising Sun. In addition to all the awe inspiring performers, the RESISTANCE stage will be returning once again reaching even greater heights, bigger productions, and some of the best names in house and techno such as no other than Carl Cox, Joseph Capriati, and Sasha & John Digweed to just name a few.
To add to the already extensive headliner release, phase two has announced the addition of Knife Party and Nicky Romero to both return for a second time since 2016 and 2015 respectively. These two chart topping DJs will be headlining the massive festival along with Alesso, The Chainsmokers, Hardwell, Kygo, Steve Angello, Steve Aoki and Tiesto. Phase two also uncovered the attendance of many more local support artists such as Crossfaith, Miyavi, Wednesday Campanella, and Yasutaka Nakata, a local producer extraordinaire who has produced for everyone from Charli XCX to Japanese pop group, Perfume.
