Markus Schulz Release “In Search Of Sunrise 22 – Nocturnal Voyage”

For more than twenty cycles, ‘In Search of Sunrise’ has thrived on craft, flow and feel – perma-tuned to that point where memory meets velocity. For his franchise span, Markus Schulz has vividly reimagined it as a yearly warm-weather trilogy, with each part functioning as a volume, ultimately expanding into a musical dawn-thru-dust narration.

2026’s has already welcomed the likes of Above & Beyond, Joris Voorn, VER:WEST, JES and Paul Oakenfold, back into the ‘ISOS’ fold, along with sonics from many one-time ‘ISOS’ mixers, Solarstone, Giuseppe Ottaviani, Kyau & Albert, Matt Fax, Jerome Isma-Ae, Kryder and Daniel Wanrooy among them. Every found Sunrise deserves to meet a spectacular sunset, and this is ‘ISOS 22’s. As Markus lays down his sophomore deeper-darker-duskier chapter, Nocturnal Voyage steps evermore boldly into the night.

“The Nocturnal Voyage is a bold step for the future of In Search of Sunrise, adding another dimension to the melodic progressive and trance sound that has defined the series; one that is predominantly late night and techno-leaning. The ethos with this particular journey was a linear approach, specifically to create a hypnotic atmosphere – very few key changes, no big buildups or peaks, but an emphasis on the groove and darker tone, all while harnessing the emotional core that still resonates within an ISOS terrain. It’s for those who love adventure in the night, the weird and wonderful of the afterhours, in the rooms where shadows speak.” – Markus Schulz

Markus was never going to take his new solo ISOS helming duties lightly. Compiling and spotlessly mixing its 50+ tracks is merely his starting point. Thus, to capture its next generation of ‘Dreamers,’ Schulz has been cultivating an ever more distinct sonic ecosystem to support the series.

‘ISOS’ is now the introductory point for much of the new Dakota material that finds its way to floors over the course of the year. Case in point, three new tracks debut within the first half of 2026’s Nocturnal Voyage alone. Schulz has also hatched multiple new ISOS-specific aliases for it, not least Aeridan and Shadow Assembly, whose moodsome ‘Eclipse’ makes a stylistically easy bedfellow amongst the Dakotas.

The In Search of Sunrise Rework and Remix have also become major tentpoles – tools each that Markus can use to shape new productions and rebuild classics in ISOS’s own image. To the latter, Markus anchors the later stages of this Nocturnal Voyage with a formidable triplet. John 00 Fleming & Astral Projection’s ‘Transient Symbiosis’, ‘Abyss’ from Sander van Doorn’s Purple Haze and Rex Mundi, Ronski Speed & Sir Adrian’s ‘The Perspective Space’ all receive the ‘ISOS’ Remix treatment. After last year’s ‘10 Seconds Before Sunrise’, Markus Schulz & BLR also relight the remix afterburners, this time rebooting Carlo Resoort’s ‘The Silmarillia’.

Championing ISOS’s tomorrow-makers, Markus brings Elias Erium, Hobin Rude & N-TCHBL, and Enlusion into the fold, who bow in with ‘The Longitude’, ‘Shared Silence’ and ‘Midnight Mirage’ respectively. Esteemed progressive house icon Guy J also gets a first-time showing, through the more-than-tasty ‘Piece of Cake’.

With Markus’s own moody, late-night transmission ‘The West End’, sunrise ultimately settles upon BT’s spectrally lingering ‘If Memory Serves (Lunar Mode)’, bringing Black Hole Recs’ 2026 excursion to its event horizon.

‘Nocturnal Voyage’ is available in its standalone form from October 7. From Oct 23, it will also be bundled inside the complete 3-disc collector’s set, offering enthusiasts and Dreamers the full summer’s-long trip as one unbroken expedition, alongside its deluxe limited edition vinyl release.
