A new music milestone experience?
Globally renowned DJ & production duo W&W will deliver a very special extended reality live stream next weekend that holds an entire 3D virtual world created from scratch. This very special performance will take place on Saturday 23rd May 17:00 CEST, with fans able to tune in via Facebook and Twitch.
For this unique occasion, W&W and ALDA will partner up with China’s premier sports brand Li-Ning. In addition they also team up with the world’s leading live streaming platform Twitch and globally renowned dance music magazine DJ Mag. Lastly, Unicef has been chosen as the global charity for this event. They working to provide relief and recovery to communities impacted by coronavirus (COVID-19). Overall a behemoth of a collaboration between all these high profile partners.
Firstly, W&W are one of the sought-after duos in the industry and are best known for their dynamic DJ sets. The raw intensity and the energy of the powerful production prowess they flex with every release is uncanny. Secondly the duo is continually performing at leading festivals across the globe, such as Tomorrowland, Parookaville and EDC. In addition, it is no surprise that for this debut of this exciting live-stream they have paired up with ALDA. W&W and ALDA have already worked together in the past, for example during AMF 2019, when the pair helped own the night during a sensational B2B performance alongside Timmy Trumpet.
Will this move mark the future of dance music? The scene is continuing to find innovative paths in light of the COVID-19 pandemic to bring music to the people. W&W’s virtual world could mark a seminal point in the history of the industry. By implementing green screens, the duo wants to enhance the illusion of their creative 3D reality. Importantly will this be a potential future route for events in this industry during the global lockdown. We have seen people perform online or even at drive-in cinemas, however, this performance will be from another level.
The duo is continuing proving their status as innovators and tastemakers in the scene. All eyes will now be firmly fixed on this revolutionary premiere of the augmented reality performance. Striving to push the dance music scene to a new limit, by creating a space that welcomes everyone to pave the way for the industry’s future.
