Whethan Drops Genre Bending Collaboration With BKTHERULA “I Go Punk”

BKTHERULA and Whethan officially debut their first collaborative single, “I Go Punk,” the first release from her forthcoming album N5ON, out later this summer. Blending BK’s boundary- ushing energy with Whethan’s genre-bending production, “I Go Punk” is out now via Warner Records and available on all major streaming platforms — listen HERE.

Produced by platinum-selling artist and producer Whethan, “I Go Punk” marks the duo’s first collaboration together, setting the stage for BK’s N5ON-era rooted in movement, freedom, and being present. Whethan’s hardcore production and supersonic genre-bending beats drive the track forward, creating a relentless soundscape. Moving effortlessly between sounds and energy, the track blends nostalgic influences with what’s next, while its chant-driven hooks and hard-hitting production are built to make the audience move. It opens the door to a neon-soaked world where boundaries fade, people lock in, and the music takes over.

“‘I Go Punk’ is really just me letting go and doing whatever feels good,” says BK. “I wasn’t thinking about rules or genres or trying to make something safe. I just wanted it to feel loud, reckless, fun, and honest. It’s the type of song you throw on when you’re outside with your friends during the summer, not caring about anything and just living in the moment.” “I’ve been a fan of BK for years, and even shouted her out in my record with Yeat, midwxst, and Matt Ox, ‘Lock It Up’” says Whethan. “I knew if we ever got in the studio together again, we’d create the perfect blend of rap and EDM, which ultimately became “I Go Punk.”

Paired with the single is an electrifying visual directed by Jamali (Mali) Martinez. Set against the backdrop of a chaotic frat party, the video follows BK as she dances through packed rooms, mosh pits, and late-night scenes that mirror the carefree spirit of the record.
