Maddy O’Neal Drops “Follow Me” Ahead of Upcoming Album & Tour Dates

Maddy O’Neal spent the last decade carving out her own corner of the male-dominated bass genre with her signature ‘Dirty Funky Bass Music, but make it pretty.’ The Denver-based artist has played 90+ shows a year for the last 5 years. She switches off between DJing and playing drum pads (watch a snippet of her Summer Camp set) during her magnetic live sets, and will perform at festivals like Lollapalooza, Secret Dreams, Same Same But Different, and Lost Lands this year.

The self-taught creative polymath will release her sophomore album in September, a genre-blending experience that sees O’Neal create her own samples from scratch, play drum pads, keyboard, and synthesizers, in addition to featuring  multiple vocalists, one guitarist, bassist and turntablist to yield organic, homegrown soundscapes.

Following May’s release of the LP’s first single “Never Fades,” O’Neal will unveil her next track “Follow Me”. Featuring trumpeter Balkan Bump (known for working with Gramatik and Talib Kweli), “Follow Me” exhibits O’Neal’s versatility by combining a trunk-rattling trap beat, eruptive horn section, futuristic synths, and Home Malone’s reggae-infused vocals. “Follow Me” is out now.
