Amongst all the chaos that’s currently happening in the world, the one thing that has the power to connect us all together is music. Established electronic producer Flume and distinguished vocalist-producer, Toro y Moi, have collaborated on a brilliant new track that combines both distinct artistries into one unifiable project.

The track resembles production styles audible from each artist, while the overall message and vibe of the track is something that can be interpreted universally. Filled with extremely catchy vocal chop melodies, D&B tempo drums, and a unique song structure, “The Difference” possesses a different foundation that other typical indie-pop electronic artists ride along. There’s a beautiful element of ‘everything is going to be okay,’ making it the perfect track to help mitigate the stress and hysteria from the pandemic taking place around the world.

Flume’s momentous career has only seen an upward slope, staggering at 9.8 million monthly Spotify listeners. Acting as his first release of 2020, “The Difference” is a beautiful divergence of Flume’s recent releases, that focused heavily on granulating synths and vocal chops. He’s developed an iconic name for himself in the electronic music space, being known for hit releases such as his Hi This is Flume mixtape and SKIN album, and a plethora of chart topping releases, some that have accumulated more than half a billion streams.

His counterpart in “The Difference,” Toro y Moi, is one of the first artists to be classified as ‘Chillwave’ due to his soothing and calming sound. His mellow yet joyful vocals are audibly recognizable and distinct to the artist, as he’s built a solid reputation for himself as a versatile singer-producer in the scene. Also possessing various hit albums and single releases, “The Difference” is just another stop of Toro y Moi’s career, already making huge marks since his OUTER PEACE album which served to be a hit.
