Music is a crucial aspect of our daily lives and has become a universal form of therapy for many. It’s an art form that allows us to stay grounded and appreciate the little things in life just that much more. In today’s world, we’re lucky to be able to turn to music 24/7, 365 days a year to escape our worries and enlighten our senses. There’s a plethora of music and media platforms that we have access to, but it’s rare to come across one that touches on the mind healing capabilities that music can bring about in our everyday lives.
Luckily, that is exactly why Conor McMullen founded the Lucid Project back in 2018. The Lucid Project is a multi-media platform that uses electronic dance music and art to inspire change. After moving to Miami, he experienced an unfortunate car accident and nearly lost his life after heading home from seeing one of his favorite DJs live. His long recovery brought about a strong connection with mindfulness and its significant impact on the self when used in everyday life. Conor aspired to share this concept with the rest of the world, so he merged this new passion of his with his love for dance music and created what is now the Lucid Project.
“At Lucid Project, our mission is to inspire change. We do this by using music & the arts as vehicles for social impact.” – Conor McMullen (Founder)
The Lucid Project binds together a community that indulges in live and streamed music performances, artist interviews, guest DJ mixes, all which promote mindfulness and the concept of Aluna. What is Aluna?
“Aluna means consciousness, in the Kogi Language. The Kogi are an indigenous group from the bio-diverse Sierra Nevada region of Colombia. Because our origins have Colombian roots, we want to pay homage to this beautiful concept by bringing it to the world.” – Lucid Project
Every day last month, the site showcased a ‘Daily Dose of Aluna’ session featuring inspirational guest speakers within the mindful music community to spread a shared universal message and continue to build this radiating culture.
As one of the very few platforms binding mindfulness, consciousness, art, and electronic music all in one, the Lucid Project partakes in every positive notion we should all be incorporating into our daily lives. A platform in which both spiritual seekers and music aficionados can bask in, its the perfect source to discover all the healing properties music holds. If you’re ready to change your life and become part of a Miami based forward-looking community that collides the worlds of music and mindfulness, join the Lucid Project experience to disconnect to connect and seek deeper within yourself.
