Live electronic band GoodLuck release their new single “Waiting for You” with DJ Ganyani, today, Friday, May 3 on Dutch-mega label Armada Music.

GoodLuck is comprised of Ben Peters (producer/ beats/ electronic percussion,) Juliet Harding (vocals/ production/ songwriting,) and Matthew O’Connell (live synths/ saxophone.) The trio based in Cape Town, South Africa proudly shares a globally-charged sound and enjoys sharing stories through music with their fans. As a group, their diverse musical talents and interests make for a genre-bending union that draws influence from electronica, pop, and jazz to name a few. Their pioneering tech setup features drum machines, synthesizers, electronic percussions, saxophone, and vocals, to bring back some of the lost art of storytelling in electronic music.

New Year’s Day 2019 began with an invitation for GoodLuck to perform a show in Soshanguve Township for Black Motion’s annual event, ‘1st Fun Day.’ The event packed a wonderful lineup, but the band was a bit wary of how the South African crowd would respond to them.

Their first time in this unchartered territory, the band gave it their best and were pleasantly surprised by the outcome. GoodLuck goes on to explain, “It was a feeling like no other, it felt like the audience were welcoming us home… It was like they were saying, ‘Where have you been all this time? We have been waiting for you’.”

This spun further into a beautiful lasting memory for the group, of how their music gave them the chance to reach out and connect with people they may not have otherwise. The lyrics of “Waiting for You” give life to a love song about giving people the hope to connect with one another.

GoodLuck’s lead vocalist Juliet Harding adds final thoughts, stating “Working with DJ Ganyani was extraordinary. He crafted an incredibly powerful beat around this inspiring message. We both have a shared vision of bringing more African to the world… We are very proud of this release!”
