Tomorrowland 2021 Postponed Until August & September
Published
4 weeks agoon
Tomorrowland has announced that its 2021 edition will be postponed until the end of the summer, mostly due to uncertainties regarding the relaxation of coronavirus fighting measures in Belgium. Last year, in place of a real festival, Tomorrowland hosted a groundbreaking virtual online event. The team behind Belgium’s mega-festival created a revolutionary interactive virtual world in under three months.
The dance music festival normally takes place over two weekends in July in the province of Antwerp. It will now be moved to the 27th – 29th of August (weekend 1) and from the 3rd – 5th September (weekend 2). Nevertheless there is still a chance that the 16th edition of Tomorrowland will take place in 2022 (depending on the state of the coronavirus fighting measures then).
Tomorrowland is working closely with local and national authorities and experts. We will see a decision based on the guidelines about outdoor events. Experts will give an update on those in the coming months.
“The stage for this year has already been built and is located in our warehouse in Rumst,” Wilmssen said. “We are still focusing on the originally planned dates of July 16 – 18 and July 23 – 35. But we realize that the corona situation makes it increasingly difficult to achieve it and we are therefore also looking at other dates.” Debby Wilmssen
In an email, Tomorrowland’s organizers said that fans can expect another announcement in May pertaining to the festival’s feasibility this year. All we know is that the organizers continue to work hard to create the best and safest festival possible. Follow us for more information.
