Over recent days, seven various high profile German (alternative) music festivals have been cancelled. Those that hoped to attend one of the fabled festivals like SonneMondSterne, Hurricane, Rock am Ring, or Southside will have to wait another year. Due to the corona pandemic these festivals are now concentrating on the summer of 2022. However, one German festival gives us hope among this dire news. The largest German EDM festival PAROOKAVILLE is looking to reschedule to the second part of this year.
“Of course, the health of everyone involved continues to come first. But we are also really excited to finally celebrate together with our citizens and artists again and create positive emotions. We don’t leave a chance for a Parookaville fully unchecked and have therefore also opted for an appointment in September at Weeze Airport” – Bernd Dicks
PAROOKAVILLE is originally scheduled between the 16th and 18th of July of this year. The organizers are now looking into the option of hosting the festival in September. Above all, they look at developments in neighboring countries such as the Netherlands or Belgium. The organizers released a statement, announcing the postponement of PAROOKAVILLE:
“The team has spent most of the last few months getting everything ready for us to hit the ground running, but the current developments in the Corona pandemic make it hard to predict with any certainty for or against a 2021 festival summer. We are ready. And we wouldn’t do anything rather than finally be able to party, laugh and dance with you again. However, since a PAROOKAVILLE in July is becoming increasingly unlikely, we are currently looking into moving the festival to September. Should PAROOKAVILLE 2021 not take place or be postponed due to the current pandemic, we are planning a fair ticket exchange system like last year. All current ticket holders will be the first to have the opportunity to exchange their PAROOKAVILLE 2021 tickets for PAROOKAVILLE 2022 tickets for free and without any price increase. Those who do not know yet if they will be able to join PAROOKAVILLE 2022 can ask for a refund.” – PAROOKAVILLE Organization
Hopefully we see PAROOKAVILLE return on a full scale in September. Stay tuned for more information.
