Theresa Rex Screams It Out on Her New Single “Scream”

Theresa Rex is back with a power ballad of epic proportions that builds from anxious and raw to explosive and hopeful. “Scream” is more than a song, it’s an emotional journey. Inspired by her own experiences with anxiety, Theresa taps into the universal feeling of being overwhelmed, when the noise in your head gets too loud, and you just want to let it all out. The song was written in Iceland by Theresa Rex along with Icelandic writer Hákon Guðony and the Finnish producer Camu Creutz.

“I have really bad anxiety, the kind that had me calling ambulances thinking I was having a heart attack. For a while, I thought I was making it better by drinking my worries away, but it would always end up with me, being to much, staying out to long, hurting my own feelings” – Theresa Rex

At the heart of “Scream” is brutally honest songwriting. The lyrics capture the inner chaos many young people face today, trying to drown out their troubles, partying, pushing limits instead of respecting their boundaries, until it all becomes too much. With lines like “I’m medicated ‘cause my body has decided to hate me”, Theresa gives voice to the physical toll of mental health struggles and the quiet desperation that so many try to mask. “Scream” is out now on all mayor streaming platforms.
