Floret Loret Unveils ‘Lightsplinter’ EP
Bass visionary Floret Loret returns with a 4-track EP, Lightsplinter, set for release on Zeds Dead’s Deadbeats label on December 3rd. A testament to his evolving artistry, Lightsplinter guides listeners through vivid sonic landscapes, blending textured sound design with guttural basslines and otherworldly rhythms.
“The theme behind this EP is overcoming challenges and embracing new beginnings. This year has been a difficult one filled with new obstacles and uncertainty. I wanted to capture the feeling of hope that emerges in the face of adversity, while still maintaining a positive outlook toward the future. The story follows the forging of a sword made of light, crafted to battle the lingering darkness within Lightsplinter Cave.” – Floret Loret
The EP opens with “Doves,” a track that creates a mystical yet foreboding atmosphere through spacious sound design, ritualistic percussion, and retro-sci-fi textures. The journey continues with “Assemblage,” where shimmering arpeggios drift over a trap-leaning groove and a gritty, resonant bassline. “Frenzy” follows, plunging into darker territory with pentatonic motifs, jagged distortion, and an undercurrent of chaotic tension. The project concludes with the title track, “Lightsplinter”, offering a sense of grounding, resolution, and homecoming—an anchoring finale to the EP’s transformative sonic arc.
Floret Loret will join Shlump on his 2026 tour, bringing the Lightsplinter experience directly to fans across the country. The tour marks a major milestone for Floret Loret, further cementing his rising reputation within the bass music landscape and introducing his immersive sound to an even wider audience.
