Blonde Maze Debuts Visually Immersive Live Set Video Following Sophomore Album ‘Second Sight’

Just one week after unveiling her acclaimed sophomore album Second Sight, New York-based indie-electronic artist Blonde Maze returns with a spellbinding new live set video, premiering May 30 on YouTube. Drawing on her cinematic sound and experience in both music production and film scoring, most recently demonstrated through her original score for Demi Lovato’s Child Star documentary, she brings that vision to life in her debut audio visual performance, blending live musicianship with striking visual design.

Shot and edited in Miami by collaborator Evan Koessler, the set features three standout tracks from the album. These include “To Love Again,” performed live with special guest Lizzy Land, “How Far Can We Go” with Hessian, and the introspective closer “Favorite Story.” Each performance was reimagined for this unique format, challenging Blonde Maze to weave songs of different tempos and keys into a cohesive visual and musical journey.

“I’ve wanted to do this for such a long time. I’ve never really had the opportunity to perform a synced audio/visual show until now, but have always wanted to marry the two elements for a live performance. A lot of my music is so visually driven—which is evident in the new album’s title—and as someone who has worked in both film and music, it is a world’s difference to have lights that add movement to the show. This was such a special set because it was more than just a performance; it was a huge passion project that a ton of work went into. I made this with my friends—Evan from Modera helped with prep and filmed/edited, and it was a really beautiful experience to have Lizzy Land come out to Miami to perform with me. Her voice and presence brought so much to the set, and since I usually perform solo, it was a treat for me to play our song together.” – Blonde maze

The creative vision behind the live set extends the emotional arc of Second Sight, an album rooted in rediscovery and renewal. The concept is brought to life through minimalist, color-shifting lighting tubes that remain physically stationary but change hues continuously, mirroring the record’s central theme of seeing familiar places with new perspective. The visual language of the performance echoes this transformation, with light playing a central role in highlighting lyrical moments. During “How Far Can We Go,” for instance, when the lyric “blue light” is sung, soft azure hues bathe the stage in quiet synchronicity.

Technically, the production was more complex than it may appear on the surface. An entire off-stage audio rack kept the set running smoothly and in perfect sync, allowing Blonde Maze to focus on delivering a performance that was both intimate and immersive. This live set represents a cinematic expression of Blonde Maze’s dual background in film and music. It invites fans and first-time listeners alike to step deeper into the world of “Second Sight,” illuminating the textures and tones that often live between the lines of her recordings.
