With a stunning and varying discography unlike any other, we got to speak with Ofenbach ourselves regarding their music career adventures and the highly-acclaimed success of top-hit “Wasted Love.” Read on to learn more.
The Nocturnal Times: Thanks for taking the time out to chat with us guys! Your 2021 has been off to a great start with the worldwide success of your latest track, “Wasted Love.” What inspired the melody and lyrics to the stunning track?
Ofenbach: It was a collaborative effort. Our friend Lagique did the melody and we composed the instrumental. The melody was so powerful and the lyrics were so clever that we directly fell in love with the song and really enjoyed working on it together.
The Nocturnal Times: How long had the top-hit been in the works before it was unveiled to listeners across the globe back in January?
Ofenbach: We worked on the track last summer. It takes several months… but there are no special rules. For example Daft Punk created a wonderful album in two weeks (Human After All).
The Nocturnal Times: “Wasted Love” features Lagique’s vibrant vocals. How did the collaboration with the talented singer come about for the tune in the first place?
Ofenbach: It was really easy, he wrote the melody and we did the production work. Like mentioned, we’re friends so it was an easy decision to choose to collaborate. When we finished composing the track, everybody was happy with how it sounded and we immediately decided to release it!
The Nocturnal Times: Are there any other particular artists that have inspired your sound that you’d like to collaborate with in the near future?
Ofenbach: We would love to collaborate with a huge rockstar like Steven Tyler from Aerosmith one day!
The Nocturnal Times: We’d love to learn more about how the concept of Ofenbach came to life in the first place! Can you share more insight on your background story and why you decided to pursue a career in music together full-time?
Ofenbach: It all just came about so naturally, we started our first music band at 12 years old. After many different projects, we had the opportunity to play in small Parisian clubs . Then we created our Dj band « Ofenbach ». We just follow our feelings and our dreams and now here we are!
The Nocturnal Times: After only being in the game for 4 years, you’ve already amassed billions of global streams and millions of monthly listeners on Spotify alone. Did you both believe you’d reach such tremendous success this quickly?
Ofenbach: The most important thing is to keep your feet on earth. We are happy but we hope it is only the beginning. We still have a lot of big dreams !
The Nocturnal Times: How would you describe your signature sound to listeners and what influenced your decision to choose such a unique musical direction?
Ofenbach: Our main inspirations are Pop, Rock and Electronic music. And we love to explore many different musical directions ! Our goal is to make songs that can make you dance till the morning !
The Nocturnal Times: Are there any unannounced forthcoming projects or releases you’d like to reveal to our viewers before the rest of the world finds out?
Ofenbach: We’ll release a song with the producer Feder on June the 25th. Stay tuned 😉
