This year, the Alabama-based producer Mize has been on a roll with new hits and releases. Back in August 2020, the artist made his big WAKAAN debut with “Thought Process” followed by an EP with the same title in November.

This past February, Mize continued to impress and made his SSKWAN debut with “Satori” an enchanting collaboration with Super Future. Now, following up to his latest single “Refraction” that dropped on WAKAAN in May, Mize has found his way back to SSKWAN for his long-awaited Balancing Act EP.

With a handful of singles on this EP, this project truly represents the honest direction that Mize wants to advance in his music career. Any listener can tell that there are new ideas, thoughts, and creative direction being explored between each unique track. In addition, he shares some heartfelt thoughts within this EP as it helps to reflect on the way that living life as an artist can really be a “balancing act.”

“’Balancing Act’ is both a call back to some of the sounds and places that made this project come together in the beginning as well as a foreshadow of the new ideas, techniques, and themes I’ve been diving into as of late. Constantly as I grow older, I notice that many aspects of my life are endless periods of balancing many things whether they be relationships, work, leisure, time, and even things as simple as taking care of your own body. I find that sometimes being an artist can be a balancing act of adopting new ideas while also attempting to keep the essence of what brought me here alive.” -Mize
