The time has arrived again, for another glorious rendition of the brilliant In Search Of Sunrise mix album. Returning as the master generator of the compilation, Markus Schulz maintains the beautiful and unparalleled characteristics of the Sunrise name once more.
An expert at searching in the Sunrise field, Markus is a natural-born star for this role. He’s paired with Jerome Isma-Ae and Orkidea to fill out the overflowing three-disc album. Outlined with trance on the brain and sunsets on the horizon, ISOS holds a chill yet energetic feel – maintaining itself on one level but rising and falling at the same time. A feature unique to this compilation, it requires the participating DJs to work together as one. While the fifteenth installation maintains classic Sunrise characteristics, it also breaks tradition. Sliding in with an early November release spot, it is just in time for the crisp changes of Autumn.
Kicking off the album again following 2018’s triumphant deliverance, Markus sets the tone for the dozens of cool and refined tracks to follow. Ferry Corsten, Giuseppe Ottaviani, Alastor, Paul Oakenfold, Yotto, Solarstone, BT, HALIENE, Dave Neven, Bicep, Matt Fax, JES, and so many others are featured on this near-50 tracklist masterpiece. No stranger to marathon lists and long playtimes himself, Markus has excelled in the open-to-close performance arena, tossing up frequent all-nighters to practice and perfect his art form. On ISOS 15 you’ll hear a mixture of his own well-versed creations, his freshest releases, and stock from the Coldharbour artillery.
The second and third discs are hosted by Jerome Isma-Ae and Orkidea respectively, and compliment each other and Markus’ intro seamlessly. It is amazing to see a collective as intricate as this come to life so effortlessly to the ear. To celebrate its arrival, Jerome even took ISOS on the road to perform at London’s Union and Budapest’s Akvárium.
Highly-famed in the trance sphere and beyond, ISOS originated 15 editions ago from the legendary talents of Tiësto in 1999. Since then it has gone on to establish innumerable trance classics, firmly-cemented greats, and newborn stars in the musical sphere. A tradition we hope continues on for many years to come, In Search Of Sunrise transcends time and is without a doubt one of the most comprehensive series still alive in the genre.
