Luigi Madonna has been an essential part of the electronic music industry for over  20 years. It is no surprise he’s earned a top spot as one of techno’s treasured artists. He is now out with his newest musical masterpiece alongside Robert Capuano. Their Mad World EP is officially out now via Drumcode.

Mad World spans across three mystifying and deeply impactful tracks. “Mad World,” “System Alert,” and “Headquarter” all morph together to create one cohesive soundtrack. The title track “Mad World” kicks off the journey in nothing but pure dramatic styles. This one presents masterfully layered industrial hits and driving rides to depict its narrative. Nodding to Luigi’s early years in House, the production rings through with groove-induced percussive elements, whilst exploring the breadth of Techno’s vast spectrum with peak-time synths.

Second up is “System Alert” which pulls influence from climate change and Mother Nature’s response to human transgression. Studying the concept of man’s commercial interests and their cataclysmic effects on the green lungs of the earth, Luigi and Roberto open with an amalgamation of futuristic tones to reference their sonic analogy. However, it is the main pitch-bending synth that cements this storyline; an epitome of nature’s siren, calling for mankind to cease its destruction.

Closing out the EP is “Headquarter.” A track full of charm from beginning to end, “Headquarter” is laced with a distorted vocal sample. Much like Luigi’s personality, the cut teeters on the balance of playful and serious in what can only be described as a sonic representation of dark humour. Sharp percussive elements move the song through and through, fueling the entire EP with stormy atmospheres.
