Explore Behind The Scenes With Cosmic Gate In ‘Materia – The Documentary’
Published
3 years agoon
Chapters One and Two in Cosmic Gate’s appropriately named Materia series were brought to life last year, and this year they’ve brought us all the inside scoop and behind the scenes footage of their explorative journey in the form of ‘Materia – The Documentary.’
The short film chronicles all the special, trying, and surprising times that cosmic duo Nic Chagall and Bossi lived through during the creation of Materia. In one fascinatingly inspirational story, they’ve captured the true essence of their journey along this two-part album. Over the extensive Cosmic Gate history and their endless artillery of productions, Materia proves to be the pair’s most impactful and significant work to date.
Highlighting key moments of the Materia expedition, the documentary features live footage from some of the most fantastic moments of the past year. The doc crew shadowed the guys, following them to both the intimate Materia tour shows and the monumental settings of world-class festivals. Whether it be top venues like Ministry of Sound, London and LA’s Exchange or week-long extravaganzas like Miami Music Week, Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), and Tomorrowland in Belgium, the team caught it all for your viewing pleasure.
The duration of the film explores exclusive backstage footage where Nic & Bossi discuss insights on how they manage the hectic touring and recording lifestyle, while simultaneously capturing the front-of-house madness and energy of their live performances. A very cool juxtaposition to see, the film brilliantly combines both the public and personal sides of Cosmic Gate that fans often only see half of. Bringing to light a more in-depth understanding of the globally celebrated artists, this film allows both long-standing and newfound fans to connect with all that Materia and the Cosmic Gate brand entail.
The backdrop of the narrative is, of course, all of the most beloved tracks from Materia including “Tonight,” “AM2PM,” “Fall Into You,” “AR,” “Noom,” and “Dynamic” among others. It is the perfect chance to catch Nic and Bossi reminiscing on their sound and development over the last decade and beyond. Watch the doc to hear more about the whole meaning and deeper sense that Materia encompasses, the idea behind splitting the album in two, and how Cosmic Gate use their innate ability to push musical limitations and in turn, their personal limitations. The discussion leads to pulling in some of their musical influences to give the broader scope of the passion they hold for their profession and what drives them each and every day.
Overall, ‘Materia – The Documentary’ gives a wonderful and organic representation of who Cosmic Gate truly is and their transition as artists into the digital world of today. Get up close and personal with Nic & Bossi through the lens of Materia with us right now:
