Enter Devault’s Audiovisual Immersion with New ‘JADE’ EP

Orange County-based artist Devault brings forth his multidimensional project JADE, a complete audiovisual immersion that possesses a unique rawness and authenticity. Out today via Geffen / Interscope Records, JADE is the genesis of a new artistic direction for Devault.
In just a few short years, Devault has emerged onto the large-scale dance music scene after first entering as one of the hottest tickets for inventive reworks. With official remixes for giants like DJ Snake, Rihanna, and Lorde among others, Devault has continued on to release works of his own which have resulted in the gathering of millions of streams across all major platforms. His debut EP Stay arrived last year as a piece of his everlasting quest for something larger than his own venture – a new wave soundscape that clashes elements of dark and intimate sounds into perfect sequence.
Accompanying the four-track EP is an incredible conceptual visual brimming with dark tones and threatening counterparts that span the 13-minute run time. JADE is best experienced via the visual component, as it is meant to be open-ended and highly engaging. Viewers can follow along as the characters progress between scenes, simulating an interactive occurrence.
The episode begins with a digitized voice stating, “Hello, welcome to JADE. JADE is a 13-minute experience of darkness, energy, and anger. The sounds are best experienced through our visual program. Thank you, and enjoy.” Prepping listeners right from the start with a typically unheard intro style, the experience dives into a potent combination of intoxicating sound design and bold production set behind depictions of vandalism, brainwashing, kidnapping, and other aggressively dark themes. Together with the thought-provoking accompaniment, JADE surpasses expectations and won’t soon be forgotten. Devault describes this as the groundwork for “A place where the music and visual experience goes hand in hand.”
