After a sudden social media blast stating the initial lineup would be available in less than 24 hours, the quickest selling Electric Forest in history is officially unleashed.

Electric Forest is a festival like no other, constantly pushing artistic and creative boundaries to give attendees a whole new experience every year. There’s no doubt they always bring some of the best collective artists and musicians to Rothbury, Michigan. This year, they once again think outside the box and have come up with a never-before-seen way of revealing their lineup. Returning to Rothbury from June 23-26, 2016, Electric Forest promises to deliver another unforgettable installment.

Electric Forest has changed up the atypical way of running a festival. With the previous announcement setting fans on standby for what was to be a “live-lineup release.” You’d assume Electric Forest would be the one providing us the artist details, as variations of this release style by other companies has been done in the past. Instead, Electric Forest has sent out goodies to randomly selected Electric Forest band holders. It’s a completely original idea that will surely create waves in the festival industry. It gives festi-goers a chance to get involved directly and be a part of one of the most exciting moments leading up to the event.

Random fans were mailed out physical envelopes with an Official Electric Forest token of information, displaying either a single artist or group of artists who were chosen to play at this year’s gathering. They ask for the recipient’s help in unveiling the 2016 lineup by sharing via some source of social media. And the results that have ensued have been both exciting and entertaining. Fans have made anything from creative videos hinting at the release card they received (view below) to a real time live upload of the lineup card (view above). And yes Bassnectar will be returning to the Forest again, like he would ever deny his ForestFam anyway.
