A trifecta of artists have come together to blend sounds and styles for an original record “One Last Time,” and the collaboration packs enormous heart and soul.
August, Kuur, and Paperwings are the creative minds behind “One Last Time.” All three artists teamed up for a single, and what turned out to be the end result is nothing short of a dance music gem. Paperwings, the rising bass music duo from Los Angeles hoans in on inspiration from mega DJ/Producers like Odesza and San Holo, and combines it with their passion for rock music. With several official remixes for Lowly Palace, followed by official remixes for ROZES “Famous” and Timeflies “Little Bit”, the two have racked in several million plays across all of their music in just over a year.
Kuur is also a Los Angeles based producer, whose presence shot up immensely following numerous successful remixes for some of electronic music’s leading artists, such as The Chainsmokers, Marshmello, and Illenium. His music has amassed millions of streams and his irresistible, emotive sound is rapidly growing his global fan base. “One Last Time” will be his fourth single of 2018, only showcasing the prosperous future to come by Kuur.
Each of the three artists utilized their individual tones to create one, solitary masterpiece of vocal harmony, infectious melody, and soaring rhythmic progressions. With heavenly vocals building up before the drop, the track then bombs up with a moment of high energy beats. The male lead carries the rest of the song effortlessly on top of even more radiant chords. Each of the artist’s musical characteristics shines through whilst managing to build up a single track that screams evolution of sound. Full of pure energy and a melody that evokes raw emotion, “One Last Time” is one song we can all relate to for its reminiscent vibrations.
“I got to know Jack Quade of Kuur on Instagram, and we quickly hit it off. We started collaborating on a few things, and “One Last Time” is the first finished track. This track is probably one of the hardest songs I’ve worked on, and I really had to dig deep to finish it. I felt a sense of relief when I sent my final vocal tracks, both as an achievement but also because of the mental stress involved. I’m really proud of this track and I hope people can identify with the message.” – August
August Ubeda, aka August, is half Spanish and half Norwegian, and to say he is a triple threat would be an understatement. He writes, sings, plays, and produces his own tracks, as well as creates the visual arts. Cashmere Cat, MØ and Diplo have stuck as major influences, and he was signed to Sony Music Norway after releasing “Shameless” via NRK Urort, a website for new and unsigned artists. Keeping his vision clear and focused on producing tons of upcoming music, August is one talent the industry is proud to boast.
