Armin van Buuren Shines During Brooklyn Mirage A State Of Trance Showcase
Published
3 years agoon
Armada Music mogul and A State of Trance originator, Armin van Buuren returned to the Big Apple for his headline event by way of the Brooklyn Mirage. The newly opened outdoor venue housed a sold out trance spectacle this past weekend featuring Armin van Buuren, along with respective support acts Alpha 9 (Arty) and Estiva.
Amidst this year’s insane Electric Daisy Carnival festivities in Las Vegas, Armin van Buuren made a special stop on the east coast to treat the Trancefamily proper before returning back to Vegas for his Wet Republic residency. Despite worries of rain on our parade, the New York City faithful came out in full force and “Sunny Days” prevailed in more ways than one. Opening sets from Estiva and Alpha 9 were both energetic and emotional in their own right.
Commencing with his three hour ensemble at 8:30 pm, Armin van Buuren kicked off with his new Shapov collab “The Last Dancer” which set the evening’s tone. More new tunes resonated around the open air hotspot including a mashup of his new single “Therapy” with James Newman and an uplifting remix of “Sex Love & Water” featuring Conrad Sewell. Sing alongs arose when Armin dropped Dash Berlin & Bo Bruce’s take on “Coming Home” as well as Gareth Emery & Standerwick’s 2017 ASOT Tune Of The Year “Saving Light” ft. Haliene.
The Brooklyn Mirage offers plenty of space, superb acoustics and exudes summer vibes for hosting dance events. Venue production showcased a state of the art video projection system, CO2 cannons, lights and lasers galore but kept the focus on the music. Internationally acclaimed and GRAMMY award-nominated, Armin van Buuren is no stranger to raucous crowds dancing to his hits. More of Armin’s recent dance floor destroyers and fan favorites like “Great Spirit” with Vini Vici and it’s brand new follow up “Blah Blah Blah” brought the fun atmosphere out as the Sunday night set extended past the posted closing time.
Die hard trance lovers and dance fanatics stuck around for what we can only describe as a solid journey down the rabbit hole. Attendees entered a beautiful state of Sunday, guided by the one and only Armin van Buuren. Be sure to follow Armin around the world and catch him in Ibiza, Las Vegas and gracing every major music festival stage this summer.
